During my 6 years with the United States Air Force, I have twice served our country in Iraq, and then retired early due to PTSD from my deployments. I first started making and playing Native American Flutes in the year 2000. My flutes traveled with me on all deployments, and I played everywhere from tents to bomb shelters during mortar attacks.

I currently reside in Battle Ground, Washington, and now also makes Native American style hand drums, as well as other native style crafts such as rattles and smudge feathers. This is a Native American Hand Drum and Flute Collection I use on a regular basis.

Most drums have a maple frame and the skin is either elk or deer. All parts are made from natural death animals. Not farmed animals. It takes me a few days to make the drums, the hide must be soaked for at least a day in water to make it soft and able to work with. Constructing the drum only takes an hour, it's the preparation and drying that takes awhile. After the drum is put together it takes a few days to dry. Drums and rattles have been used since the dawn of time as meditation tools or simple musical instruments. The beat of the drum is considered by Native American cultures to be the heart beat of mother earth, and brings you closer to the earth.
